Sam Shaba is a BSc Wildlife Management graduate of Sokoine University (SUA), class of 2011.

After school Sam has worked for World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) as a field research coordinator for a Greenhouse Gases Monitoring project under MICCA programme (Mitigation of Climate Change in Agriculture) for two (2) years after which he joined The Honeyguide Foundation as a GIS and Mapping officer on November 2014.

Currently Sam is leading the Innovation, Monitoring and Evaluation department at Honeyguide; where he is responsible for all day to day field data collection, analysis and reporting and heading all research and design of any innovative technology (software and devices) that can be used by the organization in day-to-day management and operations. The past 12 months Sam has been developing the ability of Village Game Scouts in Community Wildlife Management Areas to use CYBERTRACKER and monitor their anti-poaching patrol efforts using SMART Conservation Software;

Sam is also researching solutions for tracking the tourism revenue collection in cWMA's as well as an innovative CONSERVATION DONOR MARKETPLACE initiative with the University of Colorado's ATLAS program.
